14 Students arrived from Michigan State University for their alternative Spring Break on Sunday, March 6th to begin a week of service for the people of Philadelphia. The Students served 2 days at Drueding Center/Project Rainbow – the transitional housing facility for women and their children; a ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer. They also visited the residents of Lafayette Redeemer for an evening of games known as Senior Olympics. Lafayette Redeemer is an Independent, Assisted and skilled living facility. The students visited a homeless shelter in the city to serve meals and be a friendly presence. They also had a day to see the sites of historic Philadelphia, play flash light tag in the fields around the Provincialate and put on a skit for the Sisters! The Sisters are grateful for their presence this week as the students shared the gift of their time and energy.
