The scripture readings from this past Sunday inspire us to make the Good News available to all – no person, no part is to be excluded from knowing personally the words Jesus spoke: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives, recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free . . .”
How have we proclaimed this message this week?
During these days middle school children joined the Sisters to help plant seeds for the community garden in the hopes of providing food to many others this season.
On Monday evening we celebrated with our monthly evening Mass. Sisters, Redeemer Associates, Redeemer Ministry Corps volunteers and others gather together for a Eucharistic Feast followed by a simple soup supper. It is a time to share our faith and lives together, proclaiming God’s desire for community and unity.
Several Sisters are attending various educational and inspirational workshops in order to grow in proclaiming God’s love and healing presence to those we serve in our ministry of health care and social service.
Each day we gather for morning and evening prayer to praise God and soak ourselves in the Good News of God’s love and mercy so we can be sent forth to share with others.
