This past week scriptures reminded us to reflect on what really matters in our lives. What is our treasure and where is it? Do we need to hunt for it or we already aware of what matters to the point that it influences our daily decisions and actions?
This past week the Sisters had many opportunities to reflect on what is the treasure in our lives.
On August 6th the Church celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration. This Feast is significant because it has been the vow day for several of the Sisters. It reminds us of our commitment to following Jesus and the ongoing conversion and transformation that a follower of Jesus will experience – with its joys and struggles.
We celebrated the treasure of community as we welcomed home one of our Sisters who had been on vacation with her family for a couple of weeks.
We join our Sisters in spirit as they began the process of the international meeting in Germany. This meeting occurs every 6 years as we continue to discern God’s desire for our Congregation. We are reminded that our Congregation and our lives are in God’s hands. Prayers for the Holy Spirit’s guidance are abundant as we realize that nothing is possible without God, our only true treasure.
At the end of the week preparations for the upcoming Vacation Bible School became visible with prop set up and decorations to set the tone for this year’s theme. The theme is about the Kingdom – the everlasting kingdom, where treasure never fades. Many volunteers came to help giving of their time, talent and treasure.
May your experience the treasure of knowing God and God’s abundant love in your life this week.
