Week of April 13th – A Holy Week

A reflection on the events remembered during Holy Week brought to mind the words in scripture from 1 Corinthians 13 –

“Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seed its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing  but rejoices with the truth.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

And so clearly we can see Jesus is love – he who endured, and overcame, such suffering and death.

The Sisters of the Holy Redeemer celebrated this extraordinary love of God by participating in the Triddium – Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Stations of the Cross, Easter Vigil and finally the great rejoicing of Easter Sunday.

We were grateful for all the individuals and families who joined us during these days of remembrance.

As we continue this celebration of Easter let us open our hearts to Love – to receive love to share love.  1 Corinthians 13 is a beautiful description but it is also a very real and challenging call for us to follow each day – a call that we cannot live without God’s grace.
