Peter declares “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope . . .” (1 Peter 3).
And a reason for our hope: Jesus shares with his disciples, ” . . . I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth . . .” (John 14).
We have the promise of the Spirit of God who is with us always!
As Sisters of the Holy Redeemer we lived out of this hope and received many affirmations of hope.
On Memorial Day the Sisters gathered with friends, neighbors, and Redeemer Ministry Corps Members to celebrate the freedom for which we are so grateful.
Many of the Sisters and Residents in the Assisted Living community began a retreat facilitated by a Retreat Director. Their prayerful presence this week reminds us that hope is available at all stages of our life because of Jesus.
Throughout the week our Affiliate and a woman who is preparing to become an Affiliate on June 1st visited the Sisters’ local convents for meals and prayer. Our first stage of formal discernment with the Congregation, preceding Postulancy is as an Affiliate. Their presence continues to reveal the hope God offers in calling women to this way of life.
As you enter into this week leading up to Pentecost perhaps you can take time each day to reflect and call upon the Spirit’s revelation to be attentive to all the reasons to hope.
